Family Picnic in the Park

Macomb Patch readers voted Macomb Corners Park the best place to have a picnic in Macomb Township, with Waldenburg Park coming in a close second. These parks are open dawn to dusk.

Don't forget to bring your own sports equipment or kite!

And for area military ...

The Detroit Institute of Arts will offer free general admission to active military personnel and their families (military ID holder and five immediate family members) from Memorial Day to Labor Day (Sept. 3) as part of the Blue Star Museums program.

Museum hours are 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 for ages 6–17, and free for DIA members.
