Macomb Township Man Gets Reality Check from Michigan Lottery

David Croswell of Macomb Township won $105,000 in the Michigan Lottery's Fantasy 5 drawing.

The Michigan Lottery proved a big reality check for David Croswell.

A Macomb Township resident, Croswell received a “Big Check” of $105,000 after winning the Michigan Lottery’s Fantasy 5 drawing on Feb. 12.

Croswell said he intends to buy a new truck and to pay off bills with his winnings, according to a statement from the Michigan Lottery.

“My family gives me a hard time every day when I stop at the store and buy my lottery tickets,” Croswell said in the statement. “They tell me I’m never going to win.”

But that changed on Feb. 12 when Croswell bought the winning ticket at the Kroger located at 21441 21 Mile Road in Macomb Township.

That was a reality check—for Croswell and his family.

Congratulations. Do they let you keep the over sized promotional check, and what is the net after the tax man cometh and taketh away?
