Chippewa Valley Remembers Beloved Friend, Big Red Cassie Kenny
Chippewa Valley High School sophomore, Cassandra Kenny, passed away May 15 at age 15.
The Chippewa Valley community mourns a beloved friend and student this week in the passing of Cassandra Kenny, a Chippewa Valley High School sophomore.
Kenny, 15, passed away May 15 after losing her battle with cancer.
A student of Cherokee Elementary School, Wyandotte Middle School and CVHS, Cassie is survived by her parents, sister, grandparents and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The Big Red community's overwhelming love and support for Cassie is no more apparent than in this "Sweet 16" birthday video message, which features the voices and well wishes of more than 150 CVHS students and staff.
A moment of silence was held in Cassie's memory at the district's bimonthly board of education meeting Monday and the Chippewa Valley Education Foundation will establish a scholarship in her honor.

Cassie was in my driver's education class, a model student. She wanted to participate in as many normal activities as she could while receiving her treatment for her cancer. My sympathies go out to her family and her many friends. Pam Berger
