It's homecoming weekend for Dakota High School, with a parade, football game and dance all on the schedule.
The Cougars kicked off the festivities Friday, Sept. 28, with a parade from 22 Mile to Heydenreich, ending at the Dakota football field.

Dakota's Homecoming Dance is Saturday, Sept. 29, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the high school.
For those planning to host post-dance parties Saturday, Michigan law enforcement reminds that serving alcohol to minors is illegal and can result in fines up to $1,000 or 90 days in jail. Additionally, parents can be sued if they give alcohol to a minor and that minor is injured in any way.

My wife and I went to the football game last night and sat near the student section in the stands. We went to see our granddaughter cheer as she is a member of the JV Cheerleading squad. All of the kids were very well behaved as we had an enjoyable Friday night. By the way Dakota beat the daylights out of Warren Cusino.
