Dakota Girls Volleyball Snags First State Championship With Sweep of Temperance Bedford

The Cougars won three sets to none, scoring 25-22, 25-21, 26-24 in the MHSAA Class A final in Battle Creek.

 

Dakota High School's varsity girls volleyball team won its first state championship Saturday, sweeping Temperance Bedford three sets to none in the MHSAA Class A finals at Battle Creek.

The sets were close, but the Cougars ultimately bested their opponents 25-22, 25-21 and 26-24 for the win.

Junior Carli Snyder lead the team with 31 kills, the third most recorded in the state finals since 2005.

The 2012 MHSAA Class A volleyball finals were played Nov. 17 at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek. This was Dakota's first finals appearance.
