Former L'Anse Creuse North Principal, Dave Jackson, Dies
Dave Jackson was a longtime principal, coach and resident of Macomb County.
Recently retired principal and current district athletic supervisor, Dave Jackson, passed away this weekend.
L'Anse Creuse Public Schools confirms Jackson died of an apparent heart attack Sunday while working out at his home in Macomb Township.
Jackson, who retired as principal of LCN last year, continued to serve the L'Anse Creuse school district as the supervisor of middle and high school athletics.
Students, friends and co-workers of Jackson have taken to Facebook and Twitter to mourn the passing of their principal, coach and neighbor.
"Very sad day for LCPS," wrote L.c. Boosters on Facebook. "Dave Jackson has passed. Dave was currently the Athletic Director for L'Anse Creuse. In the past Dave held a number of positions in the district at both LCHS and LCN. He will be greatly missed."
In 2009, Jackson was named the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association's Administrator of the Year. He was also a member of the Macomb County Coaches Hall of Fame.
"RIP Dave Jackson. Greatest (principal) I've ever had and one of the kindest souls I've ever met," wrote Nicole Cowper on Twitter.
In an effort to honor the memory of Jackson, The North Star, the student newspaper of LCN, is asking all Crusaders to wear black and gold Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Mr. Jackson was an incredible individual. I cannot remember a more caring man. He always could be found walking through the hallways of LCN asking how everybody was. He truly impacted every single person he came into contact with. It's not everyday that you find a person, like Mr. Jackson, who sincerely cares about everyone around him. You will be forever missed. Rest in peace, Mr. Jackson.
Gone, but not forgotten.

Mr. Jackson really loved the kids of LCN...he was ALWAYS there for them. He attended most athletic events, concerts, etc...I even saw him at a Band Competition that was an hour away from school. Most principals call home to tell of problems children are having at school, but Mr. Jackson called home also to let parents know how special their children were and about some good things he saw happening at school. He was one-of-a-kind and he will truly be missed by his LCN family!

Mr. Jackson was a most highly respected person in the L'Anse Creuse North community. I don't believe there was a student whose name he did not know or have a kind word for. He was a person who 'walked what he talked", set high standards for himself and those around him, and strove to achieve the best and bring those around him along for the ride. He was a man of highest integrity. Mr. Jackson has left a footprint on this earth that not many of us could even get close to filling. Thank-you for your smile, your laughter, example and leadership. You will never be forgotten.

Before Mr. Jackson was at LCN he was in Richmond. And we too have very fond memories of him as a vice-principal and coach. He was extremely supportive in any venture that you wanted to take and had more school spirit than anyone. He was a wonderful man and no one will ever be able to replace him. My heart goes out to his family.

4 years ago from today..on valentines day I had just got out of school at LCN and got hit by a car in the parking lot and rushed to the emergency room. Mr. Jackson had gone with me in the ambulance and he sat with me untill he knew that I was ok. He also became close with my family and helped my brother though high school with his special needs. Mr Jackson was a great role model and an amazing principal. He was truly loved and will be extremely missed. RIP Dave Jackson <3
