Gas Prices Continue to Climb in Macomb County

What was a dull ache at the pump is quickly becoming an all too familiar pain as gas prices once again creep toward the $4 mark in Macomb County and across the country.
Gas prices in every state have increased over the last week and the national average had risen for 31 days straight as of Sunday, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.
And though price jumps will be less severe in the weeks ahead, increases are expected to continue through April, Martha M. Meade, manager of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic, told the Augusta Free Press.
“Prices at the pump continue to rise, although the double-digit weekly increases have eased a bit,” Meade was quoted as saying. “Since mid-January, the price of fuel has been propelled higher by more expensive crude oil, but more notably by regional refinery issues and the approaching switchover to summer-blend gasoline. As temporary production concerns are addressed, AAA expects price increases to slow."
The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.71 as of Sunday, and $3.91 in Michigan, according to GasBuddy.com.

I want to Thank all the Michigan Voters that voted for Obama again who refuses to let American companies drill for oil in the US and don't forget Obama supporters, Obama killed the Keystone Pipeline Project... Just pay up and aren't you so glad that you had voted for Obama ! ! !

You might want to do a little more research. We are drilling more here than ever under shhh that guy we can't talk about and the Keystone oil will go to "emerging markets". Less you forgot "It's a global world" shoved down our throat under shhhh you know that guy we can't talk about.

Don't get me started Tommy! It's much more than that. We needed someone new as President, someone who actually knew how to energize the economy by promoting new investment, which would in turn spur new jobs and in turn help with gas prices. What a sad day when we have to expect 8-10% unemployment and outrageous waste as "normal" in this great land that we call U.S.A. We used to be a nation of doer's not a nation of people asking for handouts. Mike

Drilling in US will not lower gas prices here. Our natural resources are being exploited by foreign companies and corporations with full cooperation of government.It will all be loaded on tankers and shipped out to foreign buyers, for highest price possible, with US consumers seeing no savings whatsoever..If you think otherwise you are delusional.It is all about PROFIT.They do not care about US, or consumers.Maximize profits, exploit land and resources and leave the mess that is made by extraction behind to poison you and future generations. The gas tax increase will be 14 cents, bringing it to a total of 33 cents.Registration will go up by 60%.This is supposedly to fix roads. Snyder was supposed to be againt raising taxes.

Got gas at Kroger at 23 Mile Road and Hayes last night. $3.84 a gallon unleaded regular. Never don't mind the bitterly cold artic wind hitting you off the 200 acres to the west. God only knows what the cost of gas will be after Snyder's increase.
