Get Out: The Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party Edition

Looking for something to do this weekend? We have band battles, ladies night fun, the sounds of Sinatra and more.

 

BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Where/When:
Macomb Center for Performing Arts; Friday, April 8, 7 p.m.
Why Go: It's time for the 5th Annual Battle of the Bands at Macomb Community College, with a half-dozen bands fighting for musical supremacy. Cheer them on, knowing proceeds go toward student scholarships.
Pricing: $2 in advance; $3 at the door.

"RAISE THE ROOF" FOR GOOD
Where/When
: Enchantment Banquet Hall, 46915 Hayes; Friday, April 8, 6-10 p.m.
Why Go: Macomb County Habitat for Humanity is holding its "Raise the Roof" annual benefit, an evening full of entertainment and fun, including auctions and raffles including golf packages, the construction talents of the "Women Build" group, jewelry, dinner packages and more.
Pricing: $50, includes buffet. Beer and wine is included. 

LADIES NIGHT FUNDRAISER
Where/When: Ray Wiegand's Nursery; Friday, April 8, 7 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy Ladies Night at Ray Wiegand's Nursery with games, giveaways, and browsing for unique gifts and fun items.
Pricing: $5 per person; all proceeds go to The Turning Point.

GET UP AND DANCE
Where/When: Argentine Tango Detroit; Friday, April 8, 8 p.m.
Why Go: Lori Burton, owner of the dance studio, is celebrating 10 years at her Utica location with 8 p.m. dance lessons and a party to begin at 9 p.m. Enjoy music, dancing and appetizers.
Pricing: $10.

SIMPLY SINATRA
Where/When: Macomb Center for Performing Arts; Saturday, April 9, 8 p.m.
Why Go: If you love the music of Cole Porter, Jimmy Van Heusen, Rodgers and Hart and more, come to the Macomb Center, where Steve Lippia and his band perform a mix of music, from swing tunes to poignant ballads.
Pricing: $37-$52.
