Hello Macomb, I'm Your New Community Editor
Jason Alley has joined the local Patch crew to help the community get the most out of Patch.
My name is Jason Alley and I'm your new Patch community editor. I've served as editor of Wyandotte Patch since November 2010 and now look forward to my new role, focusing on community engagement and outreach among a cluster of nine sites throughout Macomb and Wayne counties.
Our community members have always been important to Patch and now we want to focus on getting all of you onto the site, sharing the news and information that's important to you.
Sponsoring a community meeting or involved with a fundraiser? Post it on Patch's event calendar. That way, your event will be highlighted on our homepage, in our daily e-newsletter and in our calendar of events. Bookmark this link and use it often to share your events on Patch.
Looking for volunteers, have a cool school award to announce or have an upcoming garage sale? Post an announcement on Patch to let others know about it. By doing so, your post will receive exposure on our homepage, in our daily e-newsletter and in our announcements section. Bookmark this link and use it often to share your announcements on Patch.
Passionate about a certain topic or just want to weigh in on something that's on your mind? Post a blog on Patch. Blogging is a great way of getting your message, in your own words, out to our readers. You can blog once a week, once a day or whenever the inspiration hits you. (Blogging also is a great way for organizations and businesses to share their press releases. A simple copy and paste and voilà, your blog is posted to the site, where you can share it with the world.)
Enjoy shooting photos around Macomb? We'd love to see them and have made adding them to our site easy as ever. Just head to our Pics & Clips gallery and upload all those great shots you've taken.
Here at Patch, we're all about providing you the news and information about what's going on around you, but we also invite you, our readers, to get involved and become part of the conversation, as well.
Please reach out to me with any questions you have about becoming involved with Patch. You can reach me at email@example.com or at 734-276-9722. News tips should continue to be sent to the local editor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I'm looking forward to working with you to ensure that Patch remains a site that informs you, connects you and simplifies your life. Join the conversation today by taking an active role on Patch.
