Hey Michigan! This is week 13, and we're winding down our contest. There's still time to show us your state pride in photos and win one of our weekly prizes. We're looking 'Michigan' in content, tone and spirit.

Got a cool Michigan pic on your phone or digital camera? Enter up to three of them into the Your Patch of Michigan photo contest this week!
You don't need to be a professional photographer to win. The single qualification for photos you submit is that they say "Michigan." If it oozes "Michigan," it qualifies.
Each weekly winner will earn a prize, and we're in week 13, which runs through Aug. 27.
The week 13 prize is a gift certificate for two weeks of boot camp at Starting Line Health & Fitness in Rochester Hills, valued a $100.
Each week, our readers show off some of what is the best Michigan has to offer – and more importantly, what Michigan means to each person. Previous winners can be viewed here.
After Labor Day, we'll pick a grand prize winner from all of the weekly winners.
The grand prize winner will receive a certificate for a two-night stay at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island (to be used before Oct. 31, 2013, and blackout dates and other restrictions may apply). The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $600.
How to enter Your Patch of Michigan contest
Here's how you can enter: We have a few photos here to start things out. To add your own images, first become a registered Patch user if you aren't already, then add to the photo gallery on this page.
In the photo caption area, be sure to include your real, full name and the place where the photo was taken, as well as any other relevant information about what the photo shows. The email address you use to register with Patch must be a working one so we can reach you should we have questions or should you be selected as a winner.
Each week, we'll have a new gallery and a new winner.
This week's photos will be judged from entries submitted Aug. 21-Aug. 27, 2012.
The contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older. And this wouldn't be a contest without a complete list of official contest rules. Please, no more than three (3) entries per person per week. The winner will be selected Aug. 27, 2012, and must respond to notification within 48 hours.

Help--I didn't want to add my pic to this story but rather to the Week 13 Gallery. I not only can't delete the pic from this story, but I can't find the Week 13 Gallery. So embarrassing.

Lighten up guys. The snakes, girls fishing, ruined summer vacation....and especially a traffic jam in a blizzard is all part of Michigan. So deal with it. I've been in one of those Blizzard where I couldn't see the road, nor the car ahead of me. This is all part of Michigan to be proud of too. At least we don't have earthquakes etc. I'm happy and proud to be living in Michigan.

I believe any visitor to this site can "vote" for which photo(s) they think should win for any given open-for-vote week; since "Reddest Wing" is more than likely not your real name, I suppose you could always create a few more anonymous screen names and have all however many of yourselves vote for the photo(s) you prefer?

Reddest Wing sounds a bit disgruntled. Did they not choose your pic?? No one picture is better than another. They are all what each entrant feels expresses it the most to them personally.

thank you, Patch, for "Wait Staff's comment has been deleted for violating our [terms of use]". Honestly, folks, it's a thread about self-submitted and peer-voted photos. For trolls and haters to come here and agitate, crimeny, it's a pretty sad state of mind to feel that need.
