An expansive home improvement store is hiring for various positions in Chesterfield Township, according to the business.

Menards is looking to fill in-store sales positions, as well as checkout and yard jobs. Candidates can go to directly to the store on Hall Road near Interstate 94 next the Walmart Supercenter to fill out an application and have a brief interview at the time, Menards spokesman Jeff Abbott said Tuesday.

"We are always looking for good people who are interested in putting in a good day’s work for a good day’s pay," Abbott said.

The newly built store is slated to open later this winter, but an official opening date will not be announced until several days before, he said.

Chesterfield Township officials have praised the business for coming to the township, noting it will bring tax revenue and jobs.

According to the company website, Menards carries various home improvement merchandise, including tools, name-brand appliances, lawn and garden supplies and even pet products. It has 250 home improvement stores with locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
