New Taco Bell Breaks Ground at Corner of Hall and Romeo Plank

Construction crews are hard at work leveling the former BP gas station at the northeast corner of Hall Road and Romeo Plank to make way for a new Taco Bell.

The former BP gas station at the northeast corner of Hall and Romeo Plank roads was razed this week to make way for a new Taco Bell.

The lot has sat vacant for more than a year, but will soon hold the township's second Taco Bell franchise.

When Macomb Patch asked readers in November 2011 what they thought of the Mexican fast-food restaurant's move, 75 percent of respondents said they were pleased to see this franchise take up residence in the township.

An opening date for the new venue has not been announced.

I'm a little worried about what this will do to traffic on that corner, especially cars trying to get back onto Hall Road. Do you think this will be an issue?

That's a good point. There's already a Burger King right there, isn't there? And a car wash...both have customers trying to get back onto M-59 and it can be a challenge. I hope somebody has a plan! :)

The gas station had no problems with traffic re-entry, why would Taco Bell? That much busier?

It's at the Partridge Creek Mall. Virtually useless to anyone who isn't already at the mall. I've driven to Gratiot and Schoenner before when I live right across from the mall.

This is at least the fourth gas station to close recently. Guess the owners aren't ripping people off and getting rich on gas prices.

If you're talking about the Taco Bell at 45590 Gratiot Ave., that is Macomb. Macomb's eastern border is a little odd.
