The Chippewa Valley Educational Foundation hosted its second annual taste-fest and auction Thursday, playing host to more than 400 guests.

The event, held at Zuccaro Banquets and Catering in Chesterfield Township, featured entrée tasting stations for more than a dozen Macomb area restaurants and stores, including Brio Tuscan Grille, P.F. Changs and Vince & Joe's, and offered guests the opportunity to bid on a variety of live and silent auction items throughout the night.

Auction items ranged from basic prizes such as Detroit sports tickets, golf outings and spa packages, to unique offerings such as a complete Invisalign treatment from Kennet Orthodontics, a private cruise with the Macomb County Marine Division and power lunches with Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel and Chippewa Valley Schools Superintendent Ron Roberts.

Proceeds from the event will go toward CVEF's mini grants program. The foundation awards grants every year to the district's elementary, middle and high school teachers to use toward a variety of purchases and projects to improve the curriculum and educational resources in their respective classrooms.
