The Dakota High School show choir provided the soundtrack and the Macomb Township Fire Department and Macomb County Sheriff's Office ensured Santa Claus and Christmas Carol made it to the town center on time and in style for the annual tree lighting.

Roaring up to the front steps of the town hall in the township's newest fire engine, Santa Claus met with local officials and received the key to Macomb Township from Supervisor Mark Grabow.

The jolly old elf then turned his attention to the tree. With the help of Atwood Elementary students Ashton and Charles Hackler, the three flipped the candy-cane switch and set the tree aglow.

Cookies, cocoa and visits with Santa followed at the after glow party inside the recreation center.
