Police: Macomb Man Smoking K2 in Utica Park Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

A Macomb Township man was arrested July 2 on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 22-year-old Macomb Township man who was shouting and using vulgar language on July 2 at Grant Park admitted to police he had been smoking K2 prior to his arrest.

The man was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct, according to Utica police.

Police came to Grant Park after a neighbor complained of two men who seemed to be intoxicated and were using vulgar language.

When police arrived, they saw the 22-year-old trying to conceal a marijuana pipe that had fresh residue on it inside his pocket. The man admitted to police that he had recently smoked K2, according to the police report.

Police said the man became aggressive and refused to give his name. He was handcuffed and taken to the police station where he had to stay for several hours before he was sober enough to be booked, according to police.

Police have not said where the man purchased the K2. Last month, Gov. Rick Snyder signed a series of laws into effect that ban the substance from all store shelves in the state. Prior to the state ban, the sale of K2, or Spice, was prohibited in Macomb County by order of the county executive and director of health and community services.
