Sheriff Investigating Theft of Sprint Store on Hall Road in Macomb Township

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said that detectives are investigating the burglary of a Sprint Store in Macomb Township.

According to a statement from the Macomb County Sheriff's Department, three masked men broke into the Sprint Store at 24941 Hall Road on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 10:56 p.m.

The sheriff’s department said the men disabled the alarm system and took approximately $70,000 worth of merchandise from the store. The men left in a light-colored minivan, perhaps a Chrysler, according to the report.

The sheriff’s department said the incident was captured on videotape, and that the incident remains under investigation.

I would think these days, the stolen phones could be immediately tracked down via GPS and tower triangulation, as they are activated. They do have electronic serial numbers (ESN). Anyone think of that?
