Editor's Note: An updated version of this article, reflecting election results for all offices serving Macomb Township, is available here.
With three Republican candidates in Macomb Township's supervisor race, 39 percent of the vote was all it took for Janet Dunn to defeat incumbent Mark Grabow and challenger Charles Missig in the Aug. 7 primary.
As there were no Democratic candidates to run against Dunn in the Nov. 6 general election, Dunn will be the township's next supervisor. Dunn currently serves as a township trustee.
In the clerk's race, incumbent Michael Koehs (R) received 56 percent of the vote, defeating Republican challenger Cathy Imbronone.
Incumbent Treasurer Karen Goodhue (R) also won re-election, defeating her Republican challenger Thomas Christ with 55 percent of the vote.
All three incumbent trustees were re-elected, with newcomer Clifford Freitas also elected to his first term on the township board. All trustee candidates ran as Republicans.
The trustee results were as follows:
- Incumbent Dino Bucci - 3,793
- Clifford Freitas - 2,554
- Incumbent Roger Krzeminski - 3,721
- Ernie Laing - 1,749
- Renee Michaels - 2,499
- Maria Napolitano - 2,356
