Viewfinder: Night of Hope Boasts Record Turnout, Celebrities
More than 780 guests attended the Night of Hope–the premiere fundraising event for the Macomb-based charity, Angels of Hope.
Jack Nicholson meandered through the crowd wearing his trademark sunglasses, while Frank Sinatra entertained guests by crooning classics such as "The Summer Wind" and "The Way You Look Tonight." This was the atmosphere of the 2011 Night of Hope.
The Night of Hope is the premiere fundraising event of the Macomb-based charity, Angels of Hope.
Consisting of celebrity impersonators, caricature artists, food and auctions, the evening raised thousands of dollars for the charity's annual programs, including the group's holiday program, family grants and more.
The special feeling guests received as they entered the Palazzo Grande on a red carpet is the special feeling Angels of Hope board member Bill Wylonis said Angels attempts to provide to families affected by cancer.
"Just a brief moment of feeling special," Wylonis said during an evening presentation.
The annual event saw a record turnout with 780 guests in attendance, more than half of whom were first-time attendees by a show of hands.
Angels of Hope awarded $100,000 last year in grants to 30 Michigan families and saw to it that 32 families were able to celebrate Christmas through the organization's holiday program.
