Update: Funnel Clouds Spotted In Macomb County
Emergency sirens were activated in Macomb County after a sheriff's deputy saw a funnel cloud in Harrison Township. A funnel cloud was also spotted over Chippewa Valley High School.
Emergency sirens were activated in Macomb County about 4:50 p.m. Monday after a Macomb County Sheriff's deputy spotted a funnel cloud in the sky over Harrison Township.
The funnel cloud was seen over the 16 Mile and Crocker area, which prompted the sirens to be activated. A second funnel cloud was spotted over Chippewa Valley High School in Clinton Township.
"We erred on the side of caution," said Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham.
There were also calls to Macomb County central dispatch with reports of funnel clouds spotted near Selfridge Air National Guard Base, according to Vicki Wolber, Macomb County Emergency Management Coordinator.
Both Wolber and Wickersham stated that while the funnel cloud was spotted in the sky, it did not touchdown on the ground.
Editor's Note: Additional information about a funnel cloud spotted over Chippewa Valley High School was added to the story.

I heard the sirens but couldn't find anything online. A friend posted a picture she saw online of one right over Chippewa Valley.

We've received two photos of a funnel cloud over CVHS. We're trying to figure out if there were two funnel clouds spotted, or if reports of Harrison Twp were made meaning Clinton Twp. Stay tuned.
