Raised by his mother in a poor Detroit neighborhood, Dr. Ben Carson was gifted with a love of books and a drive to succeed. This distinguished pediatric neurosurgeon, educator and scientist received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2008. Troy Historic Village Director Loraine Campbell will explore Dr. Carson’s life, accomplishments and the opportunities he offers to young people today.
