Mental Health First Aid Training

May 18-24 is Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Week, as declared by Gov. Rick Snyder. Free MHFA trainings are being offered this week (and throughout the summer) as part of the state’s and the nation’s initiatives to identify people with mental illness and connect them with help before a crisis situation occurs.

Mental Health First Aid: 

Introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses

Builds understanding, and looks at common supports

Helps attendees learn how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect persons to  the appropriate care.
