WALSH COLLEGE PRESENTS ANNUAL WINE GALA FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AT SPECIALLY OPENED CHRYSLER MUSEUM

Walsh College presents its 12th annual Wine Gala, one of its largest fundraisers for student scholarships, on Friday evening, May 2, 2014, at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, 1 Chrysler Dr., Auburn Hills, specially opened for the event.

The Wine Gala will feature rare wine- and scotch tasting, a martini bar, strolling dinner, dessert in the “candy store,” and an outdoor patio with hand-rolled cigars. It will cover all three floors of the Chrysler Museum.

The facility houses more than 65 antique, custom, and concept vehicles interspersed with interactive displays and historical exhibits. Docent-directed tours will be available.

"Since its inception in 2003, the Wine Gala has raised more than $500,000 for the Walsh College Scholarship Fund,” said Audrey Olmstead, vice-president and chief development officer. “The great support from our corporate sponsors, alumni, the public, and friends strengthens our ability to continue to award valuable scholarships to our students.”

VIP tickets are $200, offering access to rare-wine tables from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; general admission tickets are $150, allowing for 7 p.m. admission.

Co-chairs for the 2014 Walsh College Wine Gala are Mindy Barry, attorney and Scott Rice, chief operating officer, Powerlink Facilities, and a Walsh alumnus.

Corporate sponsors for the Wine Gala include Auburn Pharmaceuticals, CareTech Solutions, Clayton & McKervey, Comerica Bank, Conway MacKenzie, Deloitte, DTE Energy, Emagine, EY, Powerlink Facilities, and Wealth Management Services.
