After 51 Hours in Lake St. Clair, 'The Shark' Emerges on Land

On the third day of his record-setting swim across Lake St. Clair, Jim "The Shark" Dreyer reached shore Wednesday afternoon.

An update to his social media followers celebrated Dreyer's swim for 51 hours from Algonac to Detroit. The 22-mile trek, to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity of Michigan, entailed Dreyer pulling a ton of bricks.

"He looks great, he's cracking jokes and being himself. He just finished eating his seafood sub sandwich from Subway and we are going to get him into dry clothes," Katrina Murphy wrote in a Facebook update, thanking his followers for support.

The daunting task was met with unseasonably cold August conditions on the lake. At one point, his GPS location had been lost but he was spotted safely forging on in the water. He opted not to have a support boat alongside him during the swim.
