'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' Tops Clinton-Macomb Library Check-Outs for 2012

See what the year's most popular books and DVDs were among Clinton-Macomb Public Library patrons.

With a total of 2,505 check-outs for the series as a whole, Diary of a Wimpy Kid was Mr. Popular among Clinton-Macomb Public Library patrons in 2012.

The six-book series by Jeff Kinney snagged the top six spots of the library's list of most-circulated books in 2012, with the sixth installment, Diary of a Wimply Kid: Cabin Fever, taking the No. 1 spot with 521 check-outs for the year.

Kathryn Stockett's The Help ranked No. 7 and surprisingly, or perhaps not surprisngly, the much talked about erotic novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, didn't even crack the top 20 for books.

In film, sequels reigned, with Cars 2 pulling just 39 check-outs ahead of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 for the title of most checked-out DVD at the library.
