Macomb Corners Park Now Open, Weather Permitting

With temperatures inching into the 70s and no sign of winter in sight, the is opening ahead of schedule.

While the official opening date for the park is April 15, Parks & Recreation Director Sal DiCaro said his department will open the park on a day-to-day basis weather permitting.

However, only the park's playscape and new walking path will be open prior to April 15. DiCaro said the park's baseball diamonds, soccer fields, volleyball courts, skating rink and bathrooms will remain closed until the official opening.

The park is open dawn to dusk.

Big Dog Hot Dogs to supply concessions at Macomb Corners

In other park news, the Parks and Recreation Department will contract with Big Dog Hot Dogs of Inkster for concession services at Macomb Corners Park this year.

Big Dog Hot Dogs submitted a bid for $1,200 per month to rent the concession stand at Macomb Corners Park for the upcoming season. The contract is for one year with an option to renew.
