Show You Care – Post a Sweetest Day Announcement on Patch!

Saturday is Sweetest Day. Let your loved ones know how much they mean to you by creating a free announcement on Macomb Patch.

Saturday is Sweetest Day – a day to show the ones you care about just how special they are to you.

It all started in Cleveland in 1921 when a group of confectioners came together to distribute more than 20,000 boxes of candy to "newsboys, orphans, old folks, and the poor" in Cleveland. Soon after that, the practice of distributing chocolates and gifts to the underprivileged spread to Detroit, Chicago, Buffalo and beyond.

Now, Sweetest Day is used to recognize romantic partners as well as "friends, relatives, and those individuals whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed during the year," reads sweetestday.com.

Sweetest Day "is simply a reminder that a thoughtful word, deed, or small gift enriches the life of the recipient as well as the person giving it."
