St. Isidore Strawberry Festival 2011 Schedule

Here is a complete schedule of the festival's entertainment and events, as well as information on volunteer opportunities and more.

If its primary ingredients are strawberries, chances are it can be found at the St. Isidore Strawberry Festival.

Ringing in summer with its celebration of all things strawberry, the annual festival will take place June 24-26 at on 23 Mile Road. The festival will include namesake eats such as strawberry shortcakes, milkshakes, sundaes and pies, as well as nightly entertainment, sit-down dinners and, new this year, a pie-eating contest.

Friday, June 24

  • Steve King and the Dittilies: 5 p.m.-midnight
  • Talent Show: 6-9 p.m.
  • Classic Car Show: 6-9 p.m. Drivers can preregister by calling 586- 286-1700 or sign up on the day. There is a $15 entry fee.
  • Ice Cream Sundae Bar: 6-9 p.m.
  • Vegas Room: In the church social hall, 6 p.m.-midnight
  • Game Tent: 6-10 p.m.

Saturday, June 25

  • All-You-Can-Eat Pasta Dinner: Starts at 5:30 p.m., $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under.
  • Prolifics: 7-11 p.m.
  • Vegas Room: In the church social hall, 6 p.m.-midnight
  • Game Tent: 6-10 p.m.

Sunday, June 26

  • All-You-Can-Eat Authentic Polish Dinner: Starts at 12:30 p.m., after 11:30 a.m. mass, $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under.
  • K-Tones (Polka): 12:30-2:30 p.m.
  • 50 Amp Fuse: 3:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Game Tent: 12:30-7 p.m.

Festival Extras

  • Bingo
  • Clown
  • Teen Scene
  • Moon Walk
  • Outdoor Grill: Open all days of the festival.

Talent Show

All G-rated talents are welcome to compete for one of three top prizes: first, $100; second, $75; and third, $50.

Volunteer Opportunities

Community Service Hours: Students needing community service hours for Confirmation or high school credit may volunteer to work at the festival. If working in the Game Tent, a parent must work with the student for the entire shift. Community service shifts are limited, so parents should contact the Strawberry Festival volunteer coordinator, Donna Tiefenbach, at 586-232-4699 as soon as possible to schedule their child.

Adult Volunteers: Volunteer opportunities are available both prior to and during the festival. Anyone who has not previously volunteered, but is interested in volunteering for this year should contact Donna Tiefenbach at 586-232-4699.

  • $5,000 grand prize
  • 50/50 raffles
  • Theme baskets

Proceeds raised from the festival will benefit church parishioners in need.
