It's Time for the Senior Fun Festival

Get ready for the Senior Fun Festival, parking it for one day at Gibraltar Trade Center North. The event, sponsored by Macomb County Senior Citizen Services, includes a full day of information and entertainment, all for free.

Showgoers can participate in any number of activities on June 17 when it runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., including:

  • Dancing from noon-3 p.m., with classic 1950s and '60s tunes provided by Moose and Da Sharks.
  • Playing bingo, at no cost, with games beginning every hour and players having a chance to win small prizes.
  • More than 100 exhibitors providing information on a wide variety of businesses and services of interest to area seniors. Vendors will also be selling goods.
  • A booth by the Michigan State University Extension office, offering gardening information and more.
  • Fitness and dance demonstrations, including Zumba Gold and salsa. Also showgoers can relax and enjoy a mini-massage.
  • Free health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, bone density, cholesterol and more.
  • Officials from county and government agencies will be on hand to answer questions and more.
  • Also the Macomb County Sheriff's Department will have exhibits, including a chance to meet its K9 unit.

Anyone is allowed to attend this event, and Gibraltar Trade Center's normal $2 parking fee is waived until 3 p.m. Showgoers are invited to stick around and shop the center's public markets or buy lunch at the food court once the Gibraltar opens at noon.
