Lorenzo Center Lecture Explores Great Lakes Vessels

The Lorenzo Cultural Center's latest exhibit, Becoming Michigan: From Revolution to Statehood, is ongoing through May 5.

Visitors will learn about the state's early history via exhibits, presentations and activities.

On March 1, Joel Stone, curator, Detroit Historical Museum and board member, Association of Great Lakes Maritime History, will talk about "Great Lakes Vessels of the Old Northwest." Guests will hear about the vital role the Great Lakes fleet made to the economic, political and social development of the region.

The program is free, but pre-registration is required.
Exhibits are free and don’t require advance registration to view. The Lorenzo Cultural Center is open 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sundays.
