Need Work, Macomb? Southeast Michigan Job Fair Coming Up

Get your suit and tie and resume ready.

More than 30 companies have signed on to be part of the second annual , planned for Feb. 23 at .

Last year, the event attracted 1,500 job seekers and 78 companies.

Organizers are hoping for 80 companies this year, and they stress that in order to take part in the event, companies must have immediate full-time openings in southeast Michigan.

So these jobs are for real.

Maureen Gentry, who works for the city of Rochester Hills, is an organizer of the event. She said most of the job openings that will be featured at the job hub are in IT and engineering (though Home Depot will be at the fair, too, and they have more than 100 job openings in various positions in the region, Gentry said.)

The event is free to job-seekers and $125 for companies. Registration and details about all of the job openings are available at www.mijobhub.com.

  • When: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 23
  • Where: Oakland Center on the campus of OU, 2200 N. Squirrel Road
  • To park: OU is not in session that week, so there will be plenty of parking available in the campus lots.
  • For employers: You must have immediate full-time job openings to fill in southeast Michigan. There is a $125 non-refundable registration fee. Register online at www.mijobhub.com
  • For job candidates: The event is free but you need to register at www.mijobhub.com by Feb. 16.
