UPDATE: 'Over the Rainbow': A Command Patch Performance

Macomb Patch Facebook didn't reach 550 "likes" by April 25, as per challenge requirements, but it got awful close, so Patch Editor Jenny Whalen upheld her end of the bargain and sang for you.

UPDATE: The Boston Pops just sent Macomb Patch a very exicting email with the following link: http://youtu.be/t4m5uCWQVNk Check it out!

A shorter version of this "Over the Rainbow" video collage was shown on a giant screen at Opening Night of the Boston Pops Symphony and will be played throughout the season. Make sure to pay attention to 0:09 and 2:27 of the video where you'll see a familiar face!

For those of you asking, "Why am I watching a video of Jenny Whalen singing?"—allow me to enlighten you.

On April 6, I readers to spread the word and push the Macomb Patch Facebook page past 550 "likes" by April 25.

Why April 25? Because this date would coincide with the April 26 deadline to participate in the Boston Pops Orchestra's 126th anniversary virtual sing-along. Several weeks ago, the Pops asked fans to submit videos of themselves singing the now legendary tune, "Over the Rainbow." These submissions would then be compiled into a video collage to be shown at Pops performances throughout the season as well as on the Boston Pops Web, Facebook and YouTube pages.

Unfortunately, Macomb missed the 550 mark by about 15 "likes." However, not being able to resist the opportunity to perform, so to speak, at a Boston Pops concert, I submitted a video anyway.

While I would still like Macomb Patch to out-like its insanely popular St. Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe and Wyandotte counterparts, I didn't want to disappoint the four people who really wanted to see me wear a Dorothy costume and sing.

So here you have it.

Now, what would you have me do to get the page to 700 fans?
