Two Macomb Twp. Flicks Chosen for Blue Water Film Festival

Films made by Macomb Township residents Tom Nahas and Michael Pfaendtner will be shown with 25 others from across Michigan and Ontario during the Oct. 5-6 festival.

Guests at the Blue Water Film Festival in Port Huron next month will see the works of not one but two Macomb Township filmmakers, one of which is competing in seven different award categories.

Films produced by Tom Nahas and Michael Pfaendtner are among 27 films chosen for the Oct. 5-6 festival.

Nahas' film Amendment is nominated for the 2012 Blue Water Film Awards in several categories, including direction, cinematography, screenplay, soundtrack, acting-male and Film Selection Committee Viewer's Choice.

Amendment is a tearjerker about a man struggling with the death of his young daughter, who crosses paths with a young girl coping with the death of her father. It previously tied for the Mitten Movie Project's Best Film of 2011.

Pfaendtner's film Goat Years, which will be shown Oct. 6, follows the life of a pet goat named Nemo through the eyes of his owner at the Detroit Boat Works in the 1980s.
