Ladies and Gentlemen, Check Your Engines! Health Awareness Day - Ask the Doctor

The public is invited to take part in the “Ladies & Gentlemen, Check your Engines” Health Awareness Day – Ask the Doctor event from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 9 at the Wolverine Harley-Davidson dealership, 44660 North Gratiot Ave. in Clinton Township.

The event is free and Harley-Davidson bandanas and chocolate motorcycles will be given to the first 150 people.  It is sponsored by the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, Wayne State University School of Medicine, Wolverine Harley-Davidson, the Prostate Net and Us Too Prostate Cancer Education & Support.

Breast cancer expert Elaina Gartner, M.D., member of the Breast Oncology Multidisciplinary Team at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSU SOM); prostate cancer expert Elisabeth Heath, M.D., member of the Genitourinary Multidisciplinary Team at Karmanos and WSU SOM; and Diane Levine, M.D., of Internal Medicine at WSU SOM, will be on hand at the event.

Men and women are encouraged to attend, ask questions, learn about early screening and prevention tips for prostate and breast cancer, receive smoking cessation information and counseling, receive a blood pressure screening, and take a risk assessment for heart attack and stroke.
