B'z Ink, Township’s First Tattoo Shop, Open For Business

Macomb Township tattoo artist opens shop in his hometown.

The township’s first tattoo shop - B’z Ink - opened Nov. 5 on the corner of 21 Mile and Garfield roads.

Macomb Township resident Brian Lubinski owns the store along with another B’z Ink shop in Troy. The store features semi-private chairs for tattooing, as well as a piercing station, and waiting area.

Lubinski uses organic pigments while tattooing, all-natural after-care products, and disposable and/or sterilized equipment. Lubinski said he’s also the only local shop to offer an all-natural tattoo removal method called Tattoo Vanish.

A longtime tattoo artist who first took up the art after getting a tattoo himself, Lubinski prefers to work with customer’s photos, drawings and ideas. That’s why there’s very few tattoo images displayed in the shop.

A father of three, who has lived in Macomb Township for about five years with his wife, Jennifer, decided to open the 900 square-foot shop because he said many of his customers were asking for location close to home.  “There’s really not much in this area and this is the only one in the township, so I’m excited,” he said.

The shop is located next to One Stop Party Shoppe. Lubinski said the space has been vacant for a number of years, but was once a baseball card store as well as a beauty salon.

To celebrate his grand opening, Lubinski collected donations and cash for Gleaner’s Food Bank

The shop is located at 16550 21 Mile Road. Hours are Monday through Saturday 1 to 9 p.m. B’z is closed Sundays. Call 586-298-4144 or visit their website at bzinktattoo.com
