The 118 employees working out of 's Macomb Township location should be pleased to know that their facility has one of the best health and safety records in Michigan, according to state officials.
On Friday, representatives from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) presented Cintas managers with the MIOSHA Consultation Education and Training (CET) Silver Award. The CET Silver Award recognizes an outstanding safety record of working one year without a lost-time accident.
With 118 employees at the Macomb Township facility, such an award is not easily achieved. MIOSHA Deputy Director Bart Pickelman presented the award Friday to the facility's general manager, Rick Toepel; human resources manager, Erin Buddie; and safety coordinator, Deb Martens.
“We are honored to present this award to Cintas Corporation’s Macomb facility for providing their workers with a safe and healthy work environment,” said Rob Nederhood, LARA Deputy Director, in a prepared statement. “This award recognizes their outstanding efforts to protect their workers, while providing valuable services to Michigan companies."
In addition to going one year without a lost-time accident, the facility has completed the following criteria to receive the CET Silver Award:
- Developed and implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system;
- Established a safety and health committee, with both employee and management participation;
- Developed an employee training system, with an emphasis on how to do the work in a safe and healthful manner; and
- Worked diligently to change their workplace culture to reflect the importance of employee safety.
“I am very proud of our employee-partners for their commitment to Cintas’ safety culture,” said Rick Toepel, General Manager, in a prepared statement. “This is a wonderful accomplishment that is well-deserved.”
Cintas provides Macomb-area businesses with custom work uniforms, facilities services, first aid and safety products, fire protection services and document management services.
The Macomb Township facility is located off 23 Mile Road at 51518 Quadrate Dr.
