EastSide Grill Looks to Open New Outdoor Patio by July

The addition will seat 60 people and serve EastSide Grill's full menu, including beer and wine.

Macomb's will expand its dining options this summer with the addition of an outdoor patio on its west side, facing Hayes Road.

The restaurant's plan was approved by the township Planning Commission on Tuesday and EastSide General Manager Joe Tartaglia said building will begin immediately, with the goal being to have the patio open by late July.

“Being the community’s local pub, I think on a Saturday and Sunday it would be enjoyable to sit outside,” Tartaglia said of the restaurant's decision to add the patio. “July is coming out hot, but August and September will be really nice. (The patio) brings a little flavor to the community.”

Once completed, the patio will seat 60 and serve EastSide’s full menu, including alcoholic beverages. While it won’t be covered, Tartaglia said table umbrellas will be available for customers who wish to dine in the shade.

The area will be non-smoking in accordance with Michigan's Smoke Free Law, which prohibits smoking in outdoor areas such as patios or rooftops where patrons are intended to receive service or consume food, beverages, or both.
