Macomb County Executive Mark A. Hackel will be one of the special guest speakers at the 2012 Annual Awards Dinner & Director Elections, hosted by the Macomb Conservation District, Feb. 1 at Tina’s Country House.

Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Anthony V. Marrocco will be master of ceremonies, and Hackel will be the special guest speaker, as will Gerard Santoro, of Macomb County Planning & Economic Development.

Four organizations and one individual will be honored for their conservation efforts countywide. The honorees include the St. Clair Shores Waterfront Environmental Committee, Armada Agricultural Society, Friends of the Macomb Orchard Trail, Lenox Township offices, and Rudy Roodbeen.

Two presentations are planned, one by the Huron-Clinton Metroparks and another on the new “Blue Economy” initiative by Hackel and Santoro.
