Genisys Credit Union Recognized with State Award for Friendship to Parks and Rec

Genisys Credit Union is a recipient of the 2011 Michigan Recreation and Park Association Community Service Award.

is a familiar name in the , and in recognition of its financial and volunteer support over the years, it has been named a recipient of the 2011 Michigan Recreation and Park Association Community Service Award.

The award acknowledges Genisys Credit Union’s contributions and support to the Parks and Recreation Department and community through the company’s corporate sponsorship commitment, said Michelle Duda, Parks and Recreation program leader.

Each year, the MRPA recognizes groups throughout the state that have displayed outstanding support to public recreation departments in their community.

Genisys Credit Union has been a corporate sponsor for the Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Department since 2007.

“In addition to their very generous financial support annually, Genisys has partnered with us in numerous events,” said Parks and Recreation Director Sal DiCaro. “Their in-kind donations include trick-or-treat bags, banner signs, face painters, bags, and they are always providing volunteers to our various events.”

Genisys representatives Linda Zabik, manager of public relations and community involvement, and Stacy Curtis, manager of the Romeo Plank branch, were present at the April 27 Macomb Township Board of Trustees meeting to accept the award.
