Hall Road Dairy Queen Plans to Build New Store

The new store will be built on the same parcel of land occupied by the current store, and the current location will remain open until the new facility is ready for business.

When the “Moving” sign goes up in the Dairy Queen’s window on Hall Road, customers will have only a few feet to go to find the new location serving their favorite DQ treats.

Dairy Queen owner Steve Bazi has plans to not only redesign, but to also rebuild his DQ store, located on Hall Road east of North Avenue.

Macomb Township trustees reviewed Bazi's proposal at their Aug. 10 meeting.

While Bazi does plan to rebuild, rather than renovate, the new store will be built on the same parcel of land as the current shop.

The familiar brick-covered store will continue serving customers until the new DQ is ready to open.

Early plans show the new store set farther back on the lot, with a greater portion of the store's frontage facing Hall Road. A drive-thru will wind around the back of the store from east to west and a patio will be located on the store's east side.

As this proposal is still in the beginning stages, there is no date set for when such construction could or would begin.
