Lakeside IHOP Bustling With Free Pancake Offer

It's National Pancake Day at all 10 Metro Detroit locations to benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Breakfast is on the house until 10 p.m. at any IHOP location across Metro Detroit for National Pancake Day.

A short stack of the national chain restaurant's signature flapjacks are free today as part of the 7th annual fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. All that's requested is that guests consider making a donation to the effort, which focuses on helping children suffering from a multitude of ailments.

Beaumont Children’s Hospital in Royal Oak is one of four Michigan hospitals and among 170 nationwide in the network.

“Children's Miracle Network comes to Beaumont Children's Hospital to provide more than $3-million in funding every year," said Tom McGannon, Associate Vice President of Development for the Beaumont Foundation, according to wxyz.com. "We have 50,000 kids that we help directly every year."

More than $2.5 million was raised last year. Affiliates with Beaumont will also be visiting local restaurants and providing more information about the cause, officials said.

"It's a great cause and a lot of fun," said Maryam Saeed, district manager for IHOP in Metro Detroit. She visited the Bloomfield restaurant this morning an noted it was full but with no or little wait.

She said patrons tend to participate and eat pancakes all throughout the day.

"It's always good any time and our motto is come hungry and leave happy, no matter what time of day," she said.
