Macomb Thinks 'Outside the Bun,' Welcomes Second Taco Bell

Taco Bell has received township approval to build a new restaurant on Hall Road.

Drive westbound on Hall Road and you'll pass dozens of traditional and fast food eateries, the newest of which promises to be .

The Mexican fast-food restaurant has petitioned for and received a special land use permit to set up shop on the northeast corner of Hall and Romeo Plank roads in Macomb Township.

Formerly the home of a BP gas station, the lot has sat vacant for almost a year.

Macomb Township Clerk Michael Koehs said Taco Bell has been approved to build a new facility but, given the fast approach of winter and significant amount of groundwork needed before building can begin, he doesn't expect construction on the new venue to start until spring 2012.

This new eatery would be the chain's second location in Macomb.
