Macomb Township recently approved plans that will allow a funeral home to be built north of on Hayes Road.
The property is currently owned by Carriage Funeral Services of Michigan, and a Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home is expected to be built on the site in the near future.
Township trustees authorized township attorney Lawrence Dloski on June 13 to sign the consent judgment that will allow construction to move forward. The property was previously developed for a shopping center, but plans were never finalized and the property sold to Carriage.
Macomb Township is currently home to two other funeral homes– and , both off Romeo Plank Road.
The new funeral home will be built on the southeast corner of Kingsway Drive and Hayes Road. It is unknown when construction will begin.
