Walsh College Establishes Schafer Endowed Scholarship

Walsh College has established the Margaret and Donald Schafer Memorial Endowed Scholarship to support deserving undergraduate and graduate business students.

The scholarship is based on a gift from Jerry Schafer, member, Walsh College Foundation Board of Directors, in memory of his parents.  Schafer is also a McDonald’s Corp. vice president, Worldwide Development. He graduated from Walsh with a Bachelor of Accounting degree in 1975.

“Jerry’s leadership at the Walsh Foundation and as an alumnus has provided energy and enthusiasm to our philanthropic efforts,” said Stephanie Bergeron, president and CEO, Walsh College.  “His generosity to Walsh through this scholarship will help deserving students achieve greater success in their academic and professional careers.”

Donors to Walsh College have several scholarship-giving options available, including named endowed, named annual, student hardship, and general fund scholarships.
