Fueling the Future

Professor John M. Richardson once said, “When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.”

The world is evolving into a crossroads of unawareness, a crossroads of immorality. Who can we blame for the troubles in our world? We can blame ourselves for allowing the undesirable.

As the media depicts the world in a nutshell, individuals depict the world into an even smaller perspective. The fact is clear and the fact is simple, we cannot sit and wait for change to happen by itself. The public has been fooled for change numerous times and we cannot wait for change to happen by itself.

As a 14-year-old motivational speaker, journalist, and soon-to-be author, I have fulfilled the goals that I set my mind to. After founding the Want. Work. Win. Campaign, a campaign to help motivate people, I have learned the skills necessary for the world to be taught. However, the question continues to arise, will the rest of the world continue to strive, or will we just sit and wait for a miracle to happen?

It is important to be straight forward and clear. A miracle simply will not happen. Now is the time for each and every person to have the strength and the effort to stand up and express their ideas. Former United States President John F. Kennedy simply describes your task as to “ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”

What does that mean to you? What does that mean to an ordinary citizen who may be clueless while reading this article? This means that if we just get up for food and work, just care about what goes on in your personal life, then we are just plain out laid-back. The world does not “work” when people are laid-back just like the economy does not work when business is laid-back.

 How does this all play out? How does this simplify your task? All your task is to do is to keep your eyes and ears open. When you hear of a possible experience, grasp on to it. Every experience you encounter will turn out either positive or negative and will turn out into a successful or learning experience.

Every opportunity to volunteer and give back to your community is one that can truly change your life. The joy of helping someone can be one of the most rewarding things you could ever accomplish. So the fact is that, we need to fuel the future. How do we fuel the future?

Well we simply use a straightforward trait known as respect. Respect to your education, your peers, family, friends, and co-workers, respect to your belongings and others belongings, respect for your heritage, and so on. But one of the most important types of respect is that of respecting yourself. Do you respect your accomplishments? Your heritage? Respect is the foundation of your mind as your mind keeps the task of determining your respect.

It is your heritage in which you belong to. It is your heritage in which you come from. As a proud American-Lebanese, I have great pride in my roots. I am immensely proud of my ancestors who came to the United States from Lebanon in seek of “opportunity” that they found.

I have learned that my heritage is who I am. My heritage is what describes me. Although I have acclaimed the lifestyle of the United States and I am proud to call myself an American born in the United States, I respect my heritage and appreciate what it can offer.

Heritage and respect to culture are keys to ensuring achievement among one’s success. Former United States President, Abraham Lincoln once said, “I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him.”

As today’s beliefs of morals and values have completely been transformed into a new direction, it is vital to create the values in one’s family. As a family, it is your decision to decide what morals you accept and commend.

So, how do we fuel the future? We fuel the future with YOU. You are the only person who can put our future back on track and educate others about traits that are essential to keep the world running. It is YOUR duty, YOUR responsibility, and YOUR true obligation to Want, Work, and Win, and fundamentally fuel the future.
