Five Things to Know Today: May 24

A handful of things to get you going in Macomb Township today.

Along with the fact that Hall Road always has traffic and microwave pizza is the greatest invention ever, here are five things you need to know to start your day.

  1. No need for that umbrella today, expect it to be partly sunny, with a high near 66, according to the National Weather Service.
  2. In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the very first German Word of the Day: sogar, which means even, is an adverb pronounced [zo'gar].
  3. The national Click It or Ticket campaign has begun. All drivers, as well as passengers in the front seat or who are 15 or younger, must buckle up or face a $65 fine.
  4. The Clinton-Macomb Public Library Main Branch is hosting a Cyber Safety class at 10 a.m., during which the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement (MACE) Team will give tips on how to stay safe while online. Topics include personal security online, e-mail scams, identity theft, social networking safety, electronic banking safety and online shopping safety.
  5. The price per gallon of gasoline in Macomb Township ranges from $3.74 to $3.87 today. The Michigan price per gallon is $3.84.
