Five Things to Know Today

Before you load up the camper and drive off to enjoy Memorial weekend, know these five things.

A few handy factoids to keep in mind as you head off for Memorial weekend:

  1. We just can't seem to win this spring. While you may be able to forgo the umbrella today, a light jacket is probably a good replacement. It's mostly cloudy today with a 30 percent chance of showers today and a high near 58, according to the National Weather Service.
  2. In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: probieren, which means to try, is a verb pronounced [pro'beeren].
  3. According to Wonderfulinfo.com, a normal person laughs five times in a day. If that's the case, then here's to being abnormal: Where do you find a one legged dog? ... Where you left it.
  4. If you're headed out of town for Memorial weekend, you may be in luck traffic-wise. The Michigan Department of Transportation has suspended half its road projects to make traveling during the holiday weekend easier.
  5. The L'Anse Creuse North boys track team has made school history, winning the MAC Blue Division and dual meet titles in the same year. Go Crusaders!
