Get Out: Music at the Mall, Car Cruise and Carnival

The weekend ends Monday this week, but activities can be found around town all week long for adults, kids and families to enjoy.


Where/When: , 17420 Hall Rd., Clinton Township; 1-5 p.m. Memorial Day; 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; 4-8 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
Why Go: The Mall at Partridge Creek is getting its Summer Sounds under way with live music. Enjoying shopping, dining or simply exploring as live local musicians as varied as Cancel Monday, Beth Stalker and Jim Rawlings, The Incredibles, Big Will & The 360º Band, and Rick & Dayna Lieder perform. 
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: Downtown Mount Clemens; starting 5 p.m. June 3 and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. June 4.
Why Go: If you're a car buff stop at the Mount Clemens Car Cruise, part of the Bud Light Car Cruise Nights, and enjoy a drive-in movie at dusk on Friday night, the "Cacklefest" collection of nostalgic race cars and dragsters meeting 3 p.m. Saturday, classic cars, the Flamethrower Challenge and more fun galore. And if you need a break from the cars, enjoy the June 2-5, with rides, beer tent, and fireworks at dusk on June 3; the annual June 3-5; and action, with Rosco the Clown doing magic for the youngsters at 11 a.m. June 4 at the Fountain Stage on Macomb Place.

Where/When: VerKuilen Building, 21885 Dunham Rd., Clinton Township; 9 a.m.-noon June 4.
Why Go: The MSUE Master Gardeners are holding their annual spring plant exchange. Drop by the parking lot of the VerKuilen Building and be ready to trade plants with other gardeners. Be sure to label any plants you bring with names and growing instructions. Master Gardener and Master Composter volunteers will also be on hand to answer questions.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: ; 6:30 p.m. June 4.
Why Go: Aspen holds Murder Mystery Dinners, including this weekend's theme, "Hawaiian Resort." Dine and solve the mystery. All shows are organized by Cecilia Bouchard and start at 6:30 p.m.

Where/When: The Crocker House Museum, 15 Union St., Mount Clemens; 1 p.m. June 5.
Why Go: If you've ever been curious about the rules of etiquette, look no further. The Crocker House Museum is holding an etiquette class and garden tea. Have your questions answered and enjoy tea, scones, tea sandwiches and desserts.
Pricing: $30 for Macomb County Historical Society members and $35 for non-members. Call 586-465-2488 to reserve a spot.
