Happening This Week: Fundraisers, Football and Fall Fests

If you find a few hours to spare in your weekly planner, we have some suggestions on what you can do with your time.

Where/When: , 1-5 p.m. Sept. 14.

Why Go: Tina's Country House is holding a Fall Festival for seniors. The cost, $12.50 per person, includes a talent show; fresh salad bar with grilled chicken, roast sirloin, salmon, breads, rolls, beef barley and chicken soup, plus desserts. Lunch is served at 2 p.m. Call 586-949-2280 to make a reservation.

Why Go: It's a bargain shopper's delight as St. Isidore holds its fall rummage sale. Early birds can get in for $1 starting 9 a.m. Thursday. Friday is Bag Day.

Where/When: , 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sept. 17.

Why Go: The Hub Sports Bistro holds its second golf tournament at Cracklewood Golf Course. Enjoy an afternoon of golf followed by dinner at The Hub.

Why Go: The township is hosting a Punt, Pass & Kick football competition. It's a fun, free contest that focuses on punting, passing and kicking, and it's sponsored by the NFL and coordinated in Michigan through the Michigan Recreation & Park Association. The competition is open to youngsters 8- to 15-years-old as of Dec. 31, 2011, with separate divisions for boys and girls competing in age 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15. Registration begins at 2:30 p.m., and the competition begins at 3 p.m.

Where/When: Sycamore Hills Golf Club, 48787 North Ave. 12:30-3:30 p.m. Sept. 18.

Why Go: A tea and luncheon fund-raiser is planned to support CARE of Southeastern Michigan's children's programs. Tea and lunch will be served; plus there will be raffles, a silent auction and live entertainment.
