Happening This Week: Sterlingfest, Concerts, Pig Roast and Golf

Looking for something to do with the kids this week? How about with just you and your sweetheart? Here are a few suggestions to cover both avenues.


Where/When: Metro Beach Metropark, 31300 Metropolitan Parkway, Harrison Township 10:30 a.m. July 27.
Why Go: Sign up your kid for Summer Daze fun with . He'll be performing for guests at the Activity Center.

Where/When: Dodge Park and Utica area, Sterling Heights July 28-30.
Why Go: Enjoy three days of fun at Sterlingfest, with live entertainment ranging from rock to jazz to magic on four stages. Also featured: a carnival midway, food vendors, art for sale and much more.
Pricing: Festival is free to attend.


Where/When: 7-8:30 p.m. July 28.
Why Go: It's the final "Sizzlin' Summer Nights" for the season. Bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy live music outdoors. Tonight's act is Jimmy Buffett tribute act Air Margaritaville. There will also be a dance floor set up so anyone inclined can cut a rug. Kids can enjoy fun in the KiDzOnE inflatables, games and more. Stop by the bubble zone to shape some crazy suds with Patch Editor Jenny Whalen. Refreshments available.

Where/When: Joe Bologna Trattoria, 2135 17 Mile Road, Sterling Heights 7-9 p.m. July 28.
Why Go: Joe Bologna Trattoria is holding a wine-tasting dinner. For $75 you can enjoy a six-course Italian dinner plus an assortment of wines from Castello Vicchiomaggio. Reservations required. Call 586-939-5700.


Where/When: 9 a.m. July 29.
Why Go: It's time for the 21st Annual St. Peter Golf Outing to be held at , with 18 holes of golf and prizes. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with coffee and donuts served, grilled hot dogs at the turn and cold beverages to quench your thirst.

Where/When: 6 p.m. July 29.
Why Go: The men's club at Immanuel Lutheran is holding a pig roast  in the Men's Club Hall. Proceeds support Immanuel Ministries.

CONCERTS IN THE CLEM
Where/When: Downtown Mount Clemens July 29.
Why Go: Enjoy two free concerts in downtown Mount Clemens. The Bud Light Riversight & Sound Concert Series kicks off at 7:30 p.m. with The Forbes Brothers performing their blend of country, rock, soul, blues and hip-hop at the , at Northbound Gratiot and Crocker. Or enjoy a later concert, kicking off at 9:30 p.m. at the at Macomb Place and Pine, with Strat Axis performing blues.
