Patch has five Halloween costume ideas you can pull together using clothing and other items you probably have around the house.

If the knowledge that tomorrow is Halloween has you frantically ransacking your closet for possible costumes, Patch is here to help.

Here are five costumes you can piece together from items lying around your house or a quick trip to the nearest dollar store or thrift shop.

  • Gift wrapping
  • Tape ... lots of tape
  • An 8.5-by-11-inch piece of white paper

Wrap yourself in wrapping paper and use one 8.5-by-11-inch paper to create a tag. Write on the tag, "From: God, To: Women."

  • Loud Hawaiian shirt, or any T-shirt purchased on a past vacation
  • Sunscreen
  • Folding map
  • Camera

Don your vacation gear, cover your nose in sunscreen and be sure to keep your map and camera in hand at all times.

Salt & Pepper Shakers

  • An all-white shirt
  • An all-black shirt
  • Black and white construction paper or felt
  • 2 disposable cake pans and string, or ribbon

Cut the letter "P" out of black paper or felt and affix it on the front of the white shirt with fabric glue or tape. Do the same with the letter "S" using white paper and affixing it to the black shirt. Poke a few holes in the bottom of the disposable cake pans and use a headband to secure the tins upside down on your head.

Bunch of Grapes

  • Red, purple or green shirt
  • Balloons of the same color
  • Tape or safety pins
  • Fake leaves

Choose what color "grapes" you'll be based on the shirt colors you have on hand. Blow up around 15 balloons, more as needed, to about half their regular size and tape or pin the tie off to your shirt. Weave some fake leaves into your hair to finish the look.

Cereal Killer

  • Empty cereal boxes
  • Plastic knives
  • Solid-color shirt

Made possible by the English language and its homophones, the "cereal killer" is a classic last-minute costume save. Tape or glue several boxes of cereal to a solid-colored shirt and strategically place plastic knives so they stick out of the cereal boxes. You're a cereal killer.

Remember, when your costume is all done, upload a photo to enter in our Halloween Costume Contest. You can win the Grand Prize of $5,000!
